Even with two incomes, Samantha and her husband are living paycheck to paycheck. She works from home as a call center representative and he works long hours loading and shipping vehicles to dealerships.
“Last year has been rough. I was sick and out of work, which put us behind on bills and we are still trying to catch up,” she said.
“I can only come to the food bank once a month because when my husband takes his truck to work, I don’t have a vehicle. We can’t afford food — let alone, pay for a way to get here.”
“I need to make sure my son has enough food. The food we get from here, like the pasta, noodles, spaghetti, and canned goods, lasts a long time.”
“Thank you to everyone who has helped me and others who are struggling. It helps knowing I can come here as a last resort.”
