Sherrie is a familiar face at St. Mary’s Food Bank. For the past year, she’s been visiting regularly, not just for herself, but for her husband and young grandson, who live with her.
Like so many hardworking Arizonans, Sherrie is part of what she calls the “working poor.” She’s proudly worked as a school bus driver for six years, making sure kids get to school safely each day. But even with a steady job, it’s just not enough right now.
“A friend told me about St. Mary’s when I was struggling, and it’s really helped me out,” Sherrie shared.
Thanks to your generosity, Sherrie receives the fresh produce, eggs, and lean proteins she needs to cook healthy meals at home. “Ground chicken, turkey, even a little ground beef… those are the things that help most,” she said.
Your support also extends to every corner of her life, including her two beloved cats. When money was tight, Sherrie worried she might have to give them up. “Thank you so much for the cat food and litter,” she said. “I didn’t want to have to put them up for adoption. It’s such a blessing.”
Your compassion is making a difference for families like Sherrie’s and even their furry companions. Thank you for standing with them.
